PTV Replacement of O-ring and Insert
The same procedure is used to replace the OCI insert (for OCI-2030) and the simple OCI glass insert.
Preparation¶
First, set the instrument to a state in which it can be serviced (Maintenance Mode).
- Enter maintenance mode using the workstation.
- Enter maintenance mode using the the instrument monitor. (When the GC main unit is GC-2030)
- Enter maintenance mode using the maintenance button on the instrument. (When the GC main unit is GC-2050)

Procedures¶
Step 1¶
GC-2030¶
Open INJ/DET cover (★1).
GC-2050¶
For GC-2050, do maintenance work without opening the INJ/DET cover. Turn off the power before opening the INJ/DET cover.
Step 2¶
Remove glass insert fixing nut (★2) with INJ spanner (①).
Step 3¶
Pull out old glass insert (④).
Step 4¶
Install O-ring (③) on a new glass insert (④).
When using a glass insert in which silica wool is not packed, pack silica wool according to
Guide for Packing Position of Silica Wool
.
Silica wool does not need to be packed for an OCI insert.
Step 5¶
Install the glass insert (④) to injection inlet.
Press down it with tweezers until it reaches the bottom.
Step 6¶
Install and fix glass insert fixing nut (★2) with INJ spanner (①).
Do not overtighten the nut as this may cause the O-ring to be pushed inward, making it impossible to remove the insert.
Step 7¶
Close INJ/DET cover.
Step 8¶
Exit maintenance mode using the following procedure according to the relevant instrument, and reset the consumable usage counter.
